# Marquee Hire in Surrey

Surrey has some of the finest private event settings in the South East. Large houses with generous grounds, established gardens that have hosted events for generations, and an affluent client base that understands what a well-delivered event looks like. It is one of our most active counties and a place we know well.

The county's proximity to London means that logistics are generally excellent — good road connections, suppliers close by, clients who have often already done events of this scale before. It also means the standard expected is high. We are comfortable with that.

Where we work in Surrey

We cover the full county: Guildford, Reigate, Dorking, Farnham, Godalming, Woking, Epsom, Leatherhead, Haslemere, the North Downs villages, and all areas between. We work regularly in the stockbroker belt of the north and the more rural south towards the Sussex border.

Venues we've worked at

Surrey's event landscape is dominated by private estates and large private gardens rather than commercial venues. Many of our Surrey events are held on private land — a family home for a wedding or significant birthday, an estate hired for a corporate away day, or a garden that simply happens to be large enough to do something remarkable in.

Common venue types in Surrey

Private estates and large houses are the dominant venue type. The Surrey Hills and the North Downs have a concentration of properties with the space and the setting to host exceptional events. Many have been in families for generations and suit the kind of event that deserves a proper backdrop.

Country gardens at a slightly smaller scale work well for more intimate events — a wedding for 80, a party for 100 — where the garden itself is the reason for being there.

Corporate venues and campuses are a feature of the M25 corridor and the Thames-side towns. Product launches, client hospitality events, and larger corporate away days have brought us to sites that operate primarily as offices but have the grounds to support something more ambitious on occasion.

Golf clubs and sports grounds with substantial outdoor space are a category we work with regularly in Surrey. The infrastructure is often already in place; a marquee adds the covered event space.

Logistics and access

Surrey is extremely well connected. The M25, M3, A3, and A31 give us good access to all parts of the county. For sites on the Surrey Hills or in the rural south, access planning is more detailed — the lanes are narrow and delivery coordination matters. We manage this as part of the site visit and the build schedule.

The M25 is worth factoring into the timeline for any early-morning or late-afternoon delivery, particularly on Fridays. We build that awareness into the schedule.

Planning permission

Standard permitted development rules apply: temporary structures on private land do not generally require planning permission for events up to 28 days per calendar year. The Surrey Hills AONB covers a significant portion of the county's rural south, and while permitted development rights are unchanged within the AONB, we recommend checking with the local planning authority for any event where the structure will be prominent in the landscape. Frequently asked questions

Do you work at private homes in Surrey, or only established venues?

The majority of our Surrey work is at private homes and family estates rather than established commercial venues. If you have a garden or property that you would like to use for an event, we are well suited to that brief. The site visit is where we establish what is feasible.

How do you handle access for large vehicles in residential Surrey areas?

With care and advance planning. For residential streets, we coordinate delivery times to avoid school runs and peak hours, and we confirm access route widths and turning circles before the build date. Any restrictions identified at the site visit are factored into the logistics plan.

Can you accommodate very large events in Surrey?

Yes. We have delivered events for several hundred guests in Surrey on multiple occasions. The right structure for a large event — typically a clear-span marquee in the larger widths — requires a site with sufficient open ground and access. We confirm both at the site visit.
